  1. Hello everyone I’m Sholihah Annafisah (A1B019051), I would like to answer the second question.
What factors affect gender differences in language?
The factors affect gender differences in language are influenced by the age, education degree, occupation and status and change according to social development. Men’s way of using language and women’s way of using language is different. It is because of structure of the language, norm of the society or people of the society who use the language. Moreover, gender (male-female) is socially constructed. Because of the social institution or taboo, we find variations/differences between men and women. In addition to, men’s style of speaking and women style of speaking are deeply rooted in power structure. In addition, the personality of the individual and the vitality of the group are also involved in the explanation of variability in language use. Therefore, there is a close connection between the structures, vocabularies and the ways of using language and the social roles of men and women who speak the language.

    1. hi friends, I agree with your opinion sholihah my name is Kinanti Trianggara (A1B019108)
I want to add a little, Factors that influence gender differences in language are the characteristic differences between men and women, and also differences in emotional. This difference causes the difference between the two because they have different properties

  2. Hello everyone. My name is Fahira Wina Astuti (A1B019056). I would like to answer the first question. What is the overall relationship between gender and language?
Gender is the primary determinant of how language is acquired and used. Language and Gender are interrelated with each other because men and women use different interactional patterns. The distant male and female interaction styles has achieved worldwide acceptance, to the extent that they entered popular ‘common sense’.“Language and gender” refers to the relationship between the language of male and female. Gender difference is not only a reflection of the speeches between male and female, but also a reflection of their different living styles and attitudes. The relationship between Language and Gender is an intrinsically attractive way to engage students' interest in a number of linguistic issues.

    2. My name is SIlvi Aliza (A1B019043) I also agree with you fahira, “Language and gender” refers to the relationship between the language of male and female. Gender difference is not only a reflection of the speeches between male and female, but also a reflection of their different living styles and attitudes. Gender difference is a popular research in many fields, such as in psychology, in sociolinguistics, and in female study. In these fields, the differences between male and female in many aspects have been studied from different angles with different methodologies. Though research findings lay different emphasis on the differences, there are still some similarities between them. For instance, males are more concerned with power, they desire to be leaders, while females are satisfied with their subordinate status; males speak directly and take transferring information as the first thing, but females speak indirectly, implicitly and mildly. For them, expressing feelings is very important. Many scholars have concerned about the differences between the language of male and female. To some extent, it shows that gender difference is very popular and important.

  3. hello fellas...
I am Succia Putri Nabila A1B019054 let me tell you about my perception about the statement that tells in the 3th number of the question above.
first off all, I disagree about that statement because I think everyone have the same chance to do the speech with the best quality include women it self, women have a same power as a men in their speech. they might don't have a strong energy to delivered the speech but women have a smooth word and shining brain to give a speech more better than man.
everyone have a different ability, don't judge the book's by its cover... just tried to respect each other,

thank you ... have a good day all :)

    1. I really agree with your opinion succia. Women have a same power as a men in their speech. Women can provide the best version of themselves without any gender differences. I think woman can even be more than man depending on the ability and potential of each. Thank you
